About Shannon Lough

Shannon Lough, a storyteller and yoga instructor, resides in Huron County, on the Traditional Territory of the Attawandaron and Ojibway peoples. Previously rooted in the wild, rugged coastline on Coast Ts’msyen territory in Prince Rupert, B.C., Shannon spent seven glorious years exploring and thriving within the Great Bear Rainforest. During her time on the coast, she served as the editor for the community newspaper, co-owned a yoga studio, and later became the Communications Manager for Ecotrust Canada, a non-profit that works with rural, remote, and Indigenous communities to create place-based economies for the mutual benefit of local people and nature.

In her twenties, Shannon's journey led her to teach, ski, and run long distances in Japan. She studied yoga and meditation in India and Nepal before relocating to Ottawa, where she took her Master of Journalism at Carleton University as a pathway to find a career in storytelling across mediums.
